Biography

Place and date of birth: Vicovaro (Rome), November 27, 1959.  Graduated in Hydraulic Civil Engineering at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in May 1986 with a vote 110/110 and praise, with a thesis on the recovery of the uranium from marine waters, Rapporteur: Prof. A. Misiti, Correlator: Prof. G. Rinaldi.  ° Engaged in the profession of engineer in 1986.  ° Registered at the Engineers' Register of the Province of Rome since 1986. •  In September 1990 he obtained the title of Doctor of Research in Health Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano , with a dissertation titled "Test of disposal on slag and percolate interaction - soil". - Since May 17, 1991 he has served as a University Researcher in Environmental and Health Engineering (confirmed May 17, 1994) at the Department of Hydraulics, Transport and Roads at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Rome "La Sapienza".  ° In the Academic Year 1994-95 he held the "Solid Waste Treatment Plant" Course, the University Degree in Environmental Engineering and Resources, University of Rome "La Sapienza" - Latina Headquarters. ° In the Academic Years 1995-96 and 1996-97 he held the "Environmental Health and Environmental Engineering" course, the Degree Course in Environmental and Territorial Engineering, the University of Rome "La Sapienza" and the University Degree in Environmental Engineering and Resources, University of Rome "La Sapienza" - Headquarters in Latina.  ° In the Academic Year 1997-98, he held the "Environmental and Environmental Engineering" Course, the Degree Course in Environmental and Territorial Engineering, University of Perugia and the Course of "Treatment Plant Solid Waste ", of the Degree Course in Environmental and Territorial Engineering, University of Rome" La Sapienza ". ° On November 1, 1998 he takes up service as Associate Professor (Scientific Disciplinary Group H02X, Health and Environmental Engineering) at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Rome "La Sapienza".  ° Since the Academic Year 1998 he holds the "Solid Waste Treatment Plant" Course of the Degree Course in Environmental and Territorial Engineering, University of Rome "La Sapienza" and holds the Course of "Solid Waste Treatment Facilities" "Health and Environmental Engineering", Degree Course in Environmental and Territorial Engineering, University of Rome "La Sapienza" and the University Degree in Environmental and Resource Engineering, University of  Rome "La Wisdom" ° From the Academic Year 1998-99 he is professor of the "School of Specialization in Urban Techniques for Metropolitan Areas" of the University of Rome "La Sapienza".  Since September 1, 2000 he has been a Professor (Scientific Disciplinary Group H02X, Health and Environmental Engineering) at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Florence.

Research Interest

The scientific research activity concerned the various fields of Health and Environmental Engineering, as well as documented by numerous publications on major national and international magazines and the presentation of reports and memoirs to scientific congresses. The subjects covered specifically concerned the stabilization processes of solidification of hazardous waste, the reuse of solid residues from waste incineration processes, the analysis of the phenomena of the disposal of pollutants and the interaction between leachate and soil, the techniques of intervention for the recovery of polluted sites, geotechnical aspects of waste disposal at landfills, solid waste management, waste incineration technologies,
