Biography
Pilario Costagliola was born in Florence on March 4, 1961. He graduated in Geological Sciences at the University of Florence in 1987 and earned the title of Research Doctor in 1992.
Research Interest
Main scientific interests: 1) metallogenesis of the mining districts of the Apuan Alps and the Elbis-Elba Hills (Tuscany), 2) genesis of deposits of feldspar and sericite industrial minerals in Southern Tuscany and Elba Island, 3) conservation and the archaeometric study of Cultural Heritage (antique glass and ceramics, scrap and metallurgical artifacts) 4) environmental geology, dispersion and mobility of toxic elements (heavy metals, As etc.) in the environment, alteration of sulfur in an exogenous environment (Acid Mine Drainage ) 5) application of hyperspectral detection techniques for the detection of hazardous minerals (asbestos) and alteration patents on ancient buildings.
