Raffaella Capei

Biography

Born in Florence on April 12, 1956, he graduated in classical maturity in July 1975; enrolled at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Florence in the academic year 1975/76, graduated in Pharmacy with full marks on November 6, 1980, discussing an experimental thesis in Hygiene. He is qualified to practice pharmacist profession. After graduation he continued to attend the Department of Public Health (at the time Institute of Interfaculty Hygiene) actively participating in the teaching and scientific activity. From October 30, 1989 (DR No. 449 of 30.10.1989), it is framed, as the winner of the relevant competition, in the role of researchers for the MED / 42 General and Applied Hygiene Group at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Florence and serving at the Department of Public Health from 24.11.1989. Since January 2013 he has been admitted to the Department of Health Sciences. He is a member of the Italian Society of Hygiene and the Italian Society of Phytochemistry and in the two years 1997 - 1998 he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Tuscany Section of the Italian Society of Hygiene.

Research Interest

The main topics of interest can be briefly summarized as follows: - Pesticide Pollution: Investigations on the one hand to highlight in the population the presence of such substances at the blood and tissue levels, and on the other to detect in subjects exposed by profession, comparison with control groups, the trend over years of chlorinated pesticide blood concentrations, and bio-masculine hepatic indexes- Hygiene of water intended for human consumption (potable, bottled mineral) and bathing: research directed at both microbiological characterization (especially for opportunistic pathogens such as Legionella ) and chemical pollution, particularly surfactants, chlorinated solvents, trihalomethanes, compounds nitrogen and heavy metals.
