Biography
Born March 11, 1962, in Florence, ITALY. 1989 'Degree' in Physics, University of Florence 1989-1991: PhD in Physics, University of Florence (LENS). 1991-1992: Visiting Researcher, Stanford University, (Prof. MD Fayer). 1993-1994: Post-doc at LENS 1995-2001: Contract researcher at LENS. 2001-present: Researcher at Dip. Of Physics and Astronomy and LENS, University of Florence. Participation and Service 1998-2008: Member of Council of "Structural and Dynamic Properties of Solids", Cond. Matter Division of EPS; 2004-2010: Member of the CRS-INFM-CNR Executive Committee "Soft Matter"; 2009-present: Member for Italy at the Meeting Action Committee of the Cost Action MP0902; 2001-today: Head of Research Line "Soft Matter Physics" at LENS. Participation in Projects and Coordination Italian financing: MURST-Cofin 1998; INFM-Paiss 1999; MURST-Cofin 2000; PRIN 2002; PRIN 2005; PORFSE 2007-2013 "2D THz Imaging Apparatus" European funding: HCM Network 1994-1997; COST MP0902 "Composites of Inorganic Nanotubes and Polymers" 2009-2013.
Research Interest
I am working on LENS that represents a very international and interdisciplinary platform to develop any new spectroscopic tools. The synergy of these spectroscopic skills with the bio-medical group needs will open new points of view that will turn into a breakthrough knowledge and technology.
