Biography
Renzo Capitani is a full Professor of Mechanical Design and Machine Construction (SSD ING-IND / 14) at the School of Engineering of the University of Florence. Currently teaches courses in "Machine Design" in the Degree Course in Mechanical Engineering and "Design of Road Vehicles" in the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Research Interest
As part of his research activity he has dealt with modern methods of numerical simulation and mechanical reliability and applies them to mechanical and vehicle design, with particular reference to safety issues. It also carries out characterization and modeling of the mechanical behavior of materials under the action of dynamic and impulsive loads and of reliable design methodologies with particular reference to safety issues. He has recently dealt with issues of implementation of organizational and occupational health and safety management models to ensure compliance with legislation and improve health and safety levels.
