Riccardo Gori

Associate Professor
Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
University of Firenze
Italy

Biography

Born in Prato (Italy) on April 14th 1971. Degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florence in 1999 Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental engineering from the University of Florence in 2003 with a thesis on "Reclaimed wastewater reuse for plant nurseries irrigation". Since 2006, he is assistant professor of sanitary and environmental engineering at the University of Florence (Italy). Present academic Courses taught: 'Design of plants for treatment of water and waste' (Master degree course in 'Environmental engineering') and 'Landfills and contaminated sites remediation'.

Research Interest

At first, the research activity was oriented towards the reclamation and reuse of wastewater for agricultural and industrial purposes. Other field research are: advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), mebrane processes, reduction of sludge production in biological wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), treatment of industrial wastewater (mainly textile and tannery) and liquid waste (mainly landfill leachate). Present research activity is also oriented to the arsenic removal from natural water, mine water treatment, carbon footprint analysis of WWTPs, analysis of oxygen transfer in WWTPs.
