Personal details Place and date of birth: Florence, June 7, 1950 Italian nationality Academic Position: Ordinary Professor of Paleontology (Geo-01) Education and Career University 1974 - Degree in Geology at the Faculty of Mathematical Physics and Natural Sciences at the University of Florence.                1975 - 1981 - Holder of Scientific and Educational Training at the Institute of Geology and Paleontology of the University of Florence. 1981 - 1989 - Researcher Confirmed at the Department of Earth Sciences of the University of Florence. 1989 - 1992 - Associate Professor of Micropaleontology at the University of Bari. February 1989- August 1989 - Commanded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the University of Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) as a Professor of Stratigraphy. 1992- 2000 Associate Professor of Paleontology at the University of Florence. Since 2000 - Ordinary Professor of Paleontology at the Department of Earth Sciences of the University of Florence.

Research Interest

Main fields of interest: High Resolution Biostratigraphy, Paleoceanography. Bio-magnetocronologia. Evolution of plankton with particular regard to the evolution and paleoecology of calcareous nano-fossils.
