PhD.in Biol.Animal ACADEMIC CURRENT QUALIFICATION: Ordinary Professor of Zoology at the University of Florence. DIDACTIC ACTIVITIES: Zoology, Sociobiology and Special Entomology Courses. Coordinator of PhD in Biology
Research Interest
1) Research on the evolution of social behavior and social parasitism in insects, 2) research on chemical communication in social insects. 3) research on the composition and function of the venom of social hymns; 4) Research on morphology and function of the insect exocrine glands; 5) research on nest architecture in social wasps; 6) sociobiological and systematic studies on the tropical social wasps.
