Biography
Valeria Fargion, Associate Professor of Political Science, holds Jean Monnet Chair of "European Integration Policy" at the Cesare Alfieri School of Political Science at the University of Florence and coordinates European Studies in the Master's Degree in "International Relations and European Studies", where he currently teaches "EU Politics and Politics in the Contemporary World." He also teaches "Local welfare systems" in the Master's Degree in Sociology and Social Research, and is director of the "Social Policies / Social Policies" , https://www.mulino.it/riviste/issn/2284-2098 , Official Organization of ESPANET-Italy (European Network for Social Policy Analysis), Co-Chair from 2008 to 2014. ( http: // www.espanet-Italy.net / Committee-scientifico.html) She was elected for two years (2002-2006 and 2006-2010) as an elective member of the Executive Committee of the Research Committee 19 "Poverty, Social Welfare and Social Policy" of the International Sociological Association and in 2008-2010 played the role of national expert for DG Employment in the MAC "Pensions, Health and Long-term Care"
Research Interest
His research activity focused above all on the overall profile of the Italian Welfare State in a historical and comparative perspective, the role played by the Regions in social services and structural funds, the evolution of the European social dimension.
