Biography
Born in Bologna on April 30, 1963, he graduated in Economics and Business at the University of Pisa in 1987 with a vote of 110/110 and praise. In 1991 he obtained the Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics at the Higher School of University Studies and Continuing S. Anna of Pisa with the highest marks. Since the academic year 1988/89, first as a lecturer in the field and since 1995 as a researcher and as a master of the course, he has held teaching in economics-agrarian disciplines at the Universities of Florence and Pisa. In 1991 he graduated in Discipline Teaching and Commercial and Business Techniques at High School, where he held a chair from 1991 to 1995. From 1995 to 1995 he was Senior Researcher of Agricultural Economics at the Department of Economics of the University of Florence (Faculty of Economics), where since 2005 has been Associate Professor. He currently holds the following teachings at the School of Economics and Management at the University of Florence: - Economy of the agro-food business for the first degree in Economics and Business - Agri-environment and Rural Policies (9 credits), for the Course Of Master's Degree in Economics Sciences. He has held and holds numerous teaching and organizational functions within the Faculty of Economics and subsequently the Department of Economics and Business Sciences at the University of Florence. He is a member of the Italian Society of Agricultural Economics (SIDEA), IEAA and the European Association of Agricultural Economics (EAAE). The research activity covers in particular the following topics: - Economics and organization of the agricultural sector and the agro-industrial system, both vertically (agro-food system and production chains) and territorial (local production systems) - Agricultural cooperation and Economic organization of agricultural producers - Quality in the agri-food system, with particular reference to traditional and typical products and geographical indications - Dynamics and rural development policies - Multifunctionality of agriculture, agriculture and environment relations and analysis of agri - environmental policies - Diversification of agriculture, with reference to agritourism and rural tourism. In these areas he participated and participated in numerous national and international research projects both as a coordinator and as a research unit member. He has carried out and conducts research activities in collaboration with FAO, with lINEA (National Institute of Agricultural Economics), IRPET and ARSIA, as well as with regional and provincial administrations for carrying out research and programming support In the agricultural, agro-industrial and rural sectors.
