Diploma of Scientific Maturity at the State Scientific High School Leonardo da Vinci in Florence, 1972 (57/60) Degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Florence in 1976 (110 and praise / 110) with experimental thesis in marine phytoplankton Ecology (29/10/1976). Scientific programming course with Fortran language at CNUCE in Pisa in 1977 (30/30). A doctoral thesis on Oceanology (3 eme cycle) at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6) in 1983. The PhD thesis on optic properties and quantum yield of photosynthesis of marine phytoplankton discussed on 26/09 / 1983 was realized at the Laboratoire de Physique et Chimie Marines and at the Station Zoologique in Villefranche sur mer (CNRS - Université Paris 6). Participation in post-doc Summer Schools NATO-ASI (Advanced Study Institute) on phytoplankton eco-physiology (1981, 1985, 1991, 1996). He is currently Associate Professor of Ecology (BIO-07) at the Faculty of Mathematical Physics and Natural Sciences at the University of Florence and confirmed as a second-tier professor since 2005. He is a member of the Department of Biology at the University of Florence. In 1983 with the first free contests, he was a Researcher at the Botanic Sector at the Faculty of Physical and Natural Sciences at the University of Florence. In 1980-81-82 she holds a scholarship from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (bilateral agreements between Italy and France) at the Laboratoire de Physique et Chimie Marines in Villefranche sur mer (Univ. Paris 6). In 1978-1979, after the fulfillment of his obligations, he was a professor of sciences in secondary and secondary schools. Since 2002, she has been holding a degree in marine science at the MFN Faculty of Florence, the Marine Ecology courses of the Degree Course in Biology, Ecology of the Aquatic Environment of the Specialized Degree in Environmental Biology, Ecology II for the Master of Science in Biology and Of Ecology for the Degree Course in Natural Sciences. He has held the position of Referent of the Degree Course in Environmental Biology at the Faculty of MFN Sciences in Florence From 2001 to 2006 he held the courses of Ecology and Ecology Fundamentals of the Faculty of Science in Florence Degree in Natural Sciences. In the 2000/01 year he held the annual Environmental Biology Oceanography course of Environmental Science at the University of Tuscia, Faculty of Science, MFN. From 1998 to 2006, the School of Specialization in Landscape Architecture and Landscape Design at the University of Florence (later Master of Landscape in Landscape) entrusted it to the Ecology Foundation. From 1991 to 2002, the Faculty of MFN Sciences of the University of Florence awarded him the teaching of Plant Ecology for the Degree Course in Biological Sciences. Research focuses on the relationship between the distribution of planktonic plant species and their production with the major marine environmental factors and ecological processes. In particular, the changes in microalgaal growth modalities have been investigated in relation to the optical properties of organisms and marine media, contributing to improving existing models of estimation of primary ocean production. He has acquired a 30-year experiment in oceanographic experiments in situ and in the laboratory with eco-physiological studies on natural phytoplankton populations and on cultivated species, participating in numerous national and international research programs. Luigi Lazzara is the author or co-author of over 100 extensible scientific publications, Also in the most popular international journals (ISI-Q1) in the fields of oceanology, marine ecology, algology, limnology, botany and polar ecology. Scientific director of numerous projects funded by national research organizations (MIUR, ASI, CNR, ENEA, PNRA) and international (JGOFS). Participate as Operations Unit or Coordinator for numerous national and international research programs (Antarctic Research Program, Italian Space Agency Programs, 5% MURST Programs, National Interest Programs PRIN and University Funds), Including the French Oceanographic Programs RCA, OLIPAC and EUMELI (Program Flux Oceanique) linked to the JGOFS (Joint Global Ocean Flux Study) program. Luigi Lazzara is an active member of International and National Scientific Societies including the American Society of Limnology and Oceanography, the Italian Society of Ecology, the Italian Society of Oceanography and Limnology, the Italian Botanic Society and the Italian Society of Marine Biology. He was invited as a member of the jury for doctoral thesis at foreign universities (Univ. Paris 6 and Univ. Aix-Marseille) and Italian (Naples, Viterbo). He is a member of the faculty college of the PhD School "U. Montelatici "University of Florence. He or she has served as Referee for the international journals Deep-Sea Research, Journal of Plankton Research, Hydrobiology, Polar Biology, Ocean Science Dynamics, Chemistry and Ecology, Marine Life, CIESM-PV. His scientific activity is characterized by a number of international collaborations, including the long-term partnership with the LOV Observatoire Oceanologique de Villefranche sur mer (France), the Zoological Station A. Dhorn of Naples, the University of Tuscia and Various ENEA and CNR laboratories. He has been invited for collaborations, conferences and reports from numerous Italian and foreign Universities, Research Centers and Scientific Societies (ENEA Laboratories in Frascati, Italian Botanic Society, Italian Society of Marine Biology). He was elected member of the Plankton Committee of SIBM (1997, 2008, 2011).He contributed to the organization of national and international congresses such as: 2nd European Congress of Phycology (1999 Montecatini), NATO-ASI post-doc Summer Schools (1985 and 1993), SIBM Congress (1996, Portoferraio, LI), Meeting IOCCG , Florence), XIX Ocean Optics Congress (2008, Il Ciocco, Italy).
