Personal Data, Curriculum Studiorum: 1975 - Class of high school diploma 1980 - Degree in Natural Sciences. 1984 - Degree in Biological Sciences. 1986 - Research stage at the Center de la Recherche Scientifique - Université des Sciences et Techniques du Languedoc - Montpellier (France). 1987 - Ph.D. in Systematics and Plant Ecology. 1988 - Continuation in "Laboratory Research Methodology" at the University of Modena. Career and university career: School year 1980 / 81-1982 / 83 - Alternate teacher or deputy in lower secondary and higher school of the Provveditorato in the Studies of Florence. 1988 - Graduated technician at the Department of Plant Biology (Laboratory of Botany General) of the University of Florence. 1992 - University Researcher of the E01 subgroup E01.1 (General Botany and Systematic Phytogeography) at the University of Florence. 2001 - Professor of second tier for the disciplinary science field E01B, then BIO / 02 at the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences at the University of Florence. Head of the "Experimental I, II, III, IV Course" (Competition Class A059), of the Natural Sciences Address at Florence's headquarters from AA 2004/05 to AA 2008/09. Chairman of the SSIS Toscana Natural Science Advisory Commission from 2007 to 2009. Since 2002 he has been a member of the Faculty of Biosciences and Ecology at the Department of Biosciences and Ecology, and since 2011 he has been a Ph.D. in Ethology, Ecology, Anthropology and Biosystematics (DREEAB), now PhD in Biology. He has been a member of Judicial Commissions for the award of the Doctorate of Research and has been an examiner for PhD (University of Genoa, University of L'Aquila, University of Padua, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona). In 2007-2008 he was responsible for organizing special courses in the region of Tuscany for enrollment in upper secondary and upper secondary schools, competition classes A013, A033, A040, A057, A059, A060, pursuant to Law 143 / 04. From 2008 to 2011 he was a member of the Scientific Committee of the Library of Sciences of the University of Florence. Since 2011 he is a member of the Scientific Council of the Museum of Natural History of the University of Florence Since 2011 he has been a member of the Scientific Council of the Tropical Herbarium Studies at the University of Florence. He is a member of the editorial board and editor of Webbia, an international journal of systematic phytogeography and the Review Committee of the magazine Informatore Botanico Italiano. He is an auditor for Italian and foreign journals, including: Vegetation History and Archaeobotany, Journal of Archaeological Science, Chain, Journal of Paleolymnology, The Holocene, Plant Biosystems. Scientific Associations Italian Botanic Society From 2002 to 2008 he was an Advisor to the Paleobotany Group of the Italian Botanic Society. From 2008 to 2011 he co-ordinator of the Paleobotany Group of the Italian Botanic Society Since 2009 he has been a member of the Educational Committee of the Italian Botanic Society Since 2012 Member of the Board of the Italian Botanic Society Tuscany Society of Natural Sciences OPTIMA IIPP (Italian Institute of Prehistory and Protostoria) Enrolled in the World Directory of Palynologists (International Federation of Palynological Societies). Research activities and scientific interests Archeobotanica, with particular reference to man-territory relationship, nutrition in prehistory and the origin of agriculture Paleoecology of coastal plains History of vegetation, with particular reference to the Morphology and ultrastructure of pollen Reproductive Biology Analysis of micromorphological characters In the field of archeobotanical research carried out in Italian and foreign archaeological sites, he participated in Archeological Missions in North Africa and the Middle East: Italian Archaeological Mission in Libya (III University of Rome); Italian Mission "Medioevale Petra" in Jordan (University of Florence); IMTO, Italian Mission to Oman (University of Pisa). He also collaborated in the organization of exhibitions, some of them on important archaeological sites like Pompeii and Petra (Jordan), with exposure in Italy and abroad (Los Angeles County Museum of Art; M ü nchen, Deutch Museum). He has attended numerous national and international congresses as rapporteur, chairman and invited speaker as a member of the Scientific Committee.
