Biography
1989 - graduated in Biological Sciences at the University of Florence on 16 October with a 110/110 and praise vote with an experimental thesis titled "Studies on active site of acylphosphatase" carried out at the Department of Biochemical Sciences from Florence. 1990 - January of this year was the winner of the competition, and of the relevant scholarship, for admission to the School of Specialization in Biochemistry and Clinical Chemistry directed by prof. Nassi. From 1990 to 1992, Dr. Paolo Cirri collaborated with the research group coordinated by Prof. Ramponi, who mainly focused on problems related to kinetic and structural characterization of the two isoenzymes of a phosphodirozine protein-phosphatase (LMW-PTP) low molecular weight purified by different tissues and different animal species. He also dealt with the molecular characterization of the LMW-PTP catalyst mechanism of low molecular weight of ox liver. These studies were conducted by using site-directed mutagenesis techniques of a synthetic gene coding for that enzyme. 1992-1994 Dr. Paolo Cirri was interested in the in vivo study of low molecular weight phosphoglycoside protein-phosphatase phosphatase. In particular, he conducted research on the physiological substrate of phosphotyrosine protein phosphatase and on the role that it has in the signaling pathway induced by the activation of tyrosine kinase receptors. 1993 - December 7 discussed the Thesis for Biochemistry and Clinical Chemistry titled "Active site and mechanism of reaction of low molecular weight phosphatase phosphate phosphate protein" obtaining the title with the highest marks and praise. 1995 - in November she is the winner of the Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the Department of Biochemical Sciences in Florence. 1996 - winner of the competition for researcher (E05A, Biochemistry) at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Florence. 1997 - January 9 takes up service as a researcher at the Faculty of Pharmacy by taking part in the Department of Biochemical Sciences of the University of Florence. 1998 - he discussed the PhD thesis in Biochemistry entitled "The role of low molecular weight protein-tyrosine phosphatase in the transduction of the mitogenic signal", obtaining the title of Biochemistry Research Doctor. 1998-2000 During this period Dr. Paolo Cirri was interested in the cellular integration of signs from the cytoskeletal organization and growth factors and their cooperation during mitogenesis. In particular, Dr. Paolo Cirri studied the role of low molecular weight phosphatase in signal transduction from the platelet derived growth factor and cytoskeletal integrated by Rho GTPase. Dr. Paolo Cirri also collaborated on a clinical-application project in the field of inhibition of angiogenesis. It is an anticancer approach that can inhibit the growth of the tumor itself, which appears to be extremely promising since it does not give rise to resistance induced. 2001 - December 18 obtains eligibility for associate professor for the scientific-disciplinary field E05A (Biochemistry). 2002 - November 2 takes service as Associate Professor of Pharmacy faculty at the Department of Biochemical Sciences of the University of Florence. 2003-2007 - During this period Prof. Paolo Cirri has been concerned with the scientific issues related to the signal transduction in eukaryotic cells, particularly regarding the physiology of the PDGF receptor both in pathological and physiological conditions.
