Biography
Romina Nassini (RN) shows ten years of experience on basic research in pharmacology and neurobiology of pain signalling and its modulation. She has a unique expertise in behavioural studies, which are of great relevance in studies dedicated to neuropathy study in vivo. RN’s research interest focuses on the identification of new activators and inhibitors of the TRP channels and on the molecular and translational aspects of such mechanism. RN has contributed to the identification of pathways by which inflammatory mediators signal to sensory nerves by gating receptors and channels, to cause pain and neurogenic inflammation by a number of chemotherapeutic agents. More recently RN has contributed to novel acquisitions in cancer pharmacology, regarding the PDL1 pathway and melanoma.
