Biography
Ilaria Bruni graduated in 2005 in Biological Sciences, an ecological address at the University of Pavia, with a thesis titled: Study on the Populations of Ropaloceri in the lower Ticino Park (Municipality of Mezzanine - Pavia). From February 2007 to May 2010 she has been a PhD in Environmental Sciences at the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Environmental Sciences (CIRSA), University of Bologna, in collaboration with the Department of Biotechnology and Biosciences at the University of Milan - Bicocca. The research project concerned the study of genetic diversity of Rhododendron ferrugineum L. and hybridization events by application of DNA molecular markers. He has been a researcher at ZooPlantLab at the University of Milan-Bicocca where he has developed molecular characterization programs of plant species through the DNA barcoding technique. At ZooPlantLab, Dr. Bruni deals with both activities aimed at studying spontaneous plants in biodiversity conservation and enhancement programs, as well as on plants, ornamental and officinal plants. Ilaria Bruni also deals with environmental education programs with particular reference to the drinking water sector, soil protection and consumer protection. Since October 2010 he is a technical at the Department of Biotechnology and Biosciences of Milan-Bicocca. He is responsible for the following departmental tools: Real-Time PCR and Genetic analyzer 3130.
