Design and synthesis of a number of biologically active compounds, particularly carbohydrates and their structural analogues, and biologically relevant peptides and their mimetics. Enzymes inhibitors of enzymes involved in relevant biological processes Development of innovative smart biomaterials based on inorganic, Organic or composite matrices. Elucidation of molecular mechanisms of key enzymes involved in physiological or pathological states.
