Paola Branduardi
Professor
Department of Biotechnology and Biosciences
University of Milano-Bicocca
Italy
Biography
Dr. Paola Branduardi graduated in Biology in 1993, he held major biological research, obtaining the title of Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology. From 2000 he joined the Group of Industrial Microbiology and Chemistry of Fermentations in Milan Bicocca, where he dedicated himself to the construction cell factory and optimization of production processes.
Research Interest
Development in applied microbiology and biotechnology, by tailoring recombinant microbial strains, mainly conventional and non-conventional yeasts, for the production of heterologous proteins, fine and bulk chemicals, biofuels, nutraceutics. Metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, flow cytometry, screening protocols and adaptive laboratory evolution are the approaches used to design strains with the desired features, including robustness against stress.
