Biography
She graduated in Biology 22/05/1991 at the Sapienza University of Rome (110/110). The Experimental Thesis in Plant Ecology dealt with the “Phytosociologic survey and syntaxonomic organization of the upland prairies at Nardus Stricta L. of the “Reatini Mountains”. In March 1998 won a PhD scholarship in “Environmental Science: Man and the Environment” (XIII cycle) at the Faculty of Science M.F.N. in Isernia of the University of Molise. The object of this activity was “Habitat classification and the evaluation of Environmental quality”. Obtained the title of Research Doctor 21st March 2002. 1st November entered the Faculty of Science of the University of Molise as a researcher SSD E01D Plant Ecology (now BIO/03) working at the Department of Environmental and Territorial Science (DISTAT) of the same faculty. From 1st November 2003, she was confirmed University researcher SSD BIO/03. From 1991 she is employed in several researches in phytosociologic areas and in plant ecology, focusing attention on the study of species and of the plant community of Southern- Central Italy. In particular, dealt with the flora and syntaxonomic organization and of vegetation; the analysis of the distribution pattern and architecture of ligneous species of the Mediterranean maquis; various analysis techniques used for floristic and vegetation information; landscape ecology, referring in particular to the conservation of biodiversity and for the definition of environmental quality; Plant Ecology in an urban setting. In 2001 she defined the hierarchical land classification of the Molise region, using the methods of landscape ecology and evaluating the environmental quality on a vegetation basis for the entire region and for different land systems and subsystems found. Collaborated with research activities of Plant Ecology laboratory and Cartography GIS Lab of the University of Molise (Isernia), i.e: 1-defined the hierarchical land classification of the Molise Region and the evaluation of the environmental quality, on a vegetation basis, at a scale of 1:250,000; 2-collaborated on the project for “Identification and planning models of Molise natural resources: vegetation studies for environmental quality analysis”, coordinated by Prof. Alicia Acosta, who suggested a biodiversity study of the Molise Region with the aim to define the parameters suitable for the evaluation of Environmental quality (referring in particular to the vegetation component), coherent to those proposed by the E.U. according to the Habitat directives.
