Biography
Prof. BISCEGLIE Franco graduated in Chemistry in 1997. In 2002 he became a Doctor of Science discussing a thesis titled "Preparative, Spectral and Structural Studies of New Metal Complexes with Polydentate Ligands of Medical Applicative Interest". He spent several months at the Laboratoire de Chimie Bioorganique et Bioinorganique (LCBB) at the University of Paris XI in the group of prof. I. Morgenstern-Badarau.Subsequently he was the winner of two scholarships awarded by the Interuniversity Consortium of Chemical Chemistry Research (CIRCMSB) to conduct research on the topic "Metallic Ions in Diagnostics and Human Therapy" and "New Inorganic Drugs in Oncology". He has also carried out some professional performance assignments concerning synthetic studies and characterization of non-cisplatin metallic complexes similar to anti-tumor agents.
Research Interest
Design and synthesis of multicomponent systems characterized by spectroscopic and diffractometric methods. Development of the study of molecular structure as a basis for the interpretation of chemical reactivity towards biological systems. Study of the relationship between structure and biological activity.
