Biography
Giancarlo Sangalli is full professor in numerical analysis at the Mathematics Department of the University of Pavia. He earned his Ph.D. in mathematics in 2002 from the University of Milan, under the supervision of Prof. Franco Brezzi. Sangalli's research interests are in the field of numerical methods for partial differential equations. He has worked on multiscale numerical methods, domain decomposition methods and, more recently, on isogeometric methods. On this topic, Sangalli coordinates italian (FIRB) and european (ERC) research projects.
Research Interest
Isogeometric analysis; FEM for convection-diffusion; Multi-scale methods; Domain decomposition.
