Biography
March 1994. Laurea degree (5 years, equivalent to MSc) in Electronic Engineering with specialization in Optoelectronics from the University of Pavia, Italy. Score 110/110 summa cum laude. November 1994-October 1997 PhD in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science. PhD title awarded by the University of Pavia (Italy) on 28 May 1998. PhD thesis title: Soliton generation and propagation in optical fiber cavity lasers'. The scientific activity was entirely carried out at the Advanced Research Laboratories of the company Pirelli Cables & Systems (now Pirelli Labs) in Milan, Italy, in close collaboration also with Bordoni Foundation in Rome, Italy. March- October 1999. Post-Doc fellowship received from the University of Pavia, Italy. November 1999. Assistant Professor in Applied Physics at the Electronics Department of the University of Pavia., Now Associate Professor in Applied Physics at the Electronics Department of the University of Pavia
