Biography
Sabina Merlo (SM) graduated in Electronic Engineering in 1987 and received a Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering in 1992 from the University of Pavia (UniPV), Italy. She was recipient in 1987 of a Rotary Foundation Scholarship for studying and carrying on research at the Center for Bioengineering of the University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA, where she obtained in 1989 a Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) in Bioengineering. Assistant Professor since 1993, she is Associate Professor of Electronics since 2001 at UniPV. In 2013, she has achieved the national scientific qualification to function as full professor of Electronics in Italian Universities, valid until 2021.

Optical Biosensors, Photonic Crystals, MEMS, MOEMS, Chaotic Optical Encryption, Interferometry.
