Biography
Giovanni Fusco was born in Messina on 31th August 1989. At the University of Rome "La Sapienza" holds a Bachelor's Degree (December 14, 2011, with 110/110 cum laude) and then the Master of Science in chemistry (LM-54) - Organic-Biomolecular address (March 11, 2014, with 110/110 cum laude) discussing the thesis "New characterization methods for the identification of new psychoactive substances and synthetic studies of synthetic cannabinoid analogs". He has carried out training activities at the Chemistry, Explosives and Flammable section of the Department of Scientific Investigations (R.I.S.) of the Carabinieri in Rome and at the laboratories of ICB CNR, Rome office. From 1st November 2014 holds a PhD in Chemical Sciences (XXX cycle) with the research project entitled "Evaluation of the use of nanostructured functionalized materials and modified proteins for the production of optical and electrochemical sensors and biosensors" under the supervision of Dr. Andrea D'Annibale and in collaboration with Prof. Franco Mazzei and Dr. Antonella De Mico. In this period he has participated in several conferences related to the research topic (Journées d'électrochimie 2015, Rome, XXV Congress of the Analytical Chemistry Division of SCI 2015, Trieste, Workshop on Research 2015 (Department of CTF), Rome, 26th Anniversary World Congress on Biosensors 2016, Gothenburg). He is co-author of several scientific publications in the field of biosensors. He is qualified Chemist from University of Rome "La Sapienza" (Second session of 2014, score 188/200) and belongs to the Italian Chemical Society.
