Biography

Born in 1947, he obtained his degree in chemistry from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 1972 with 110/110 cum laude. Is Professor of Physical Chemistry from 1990 and began the academic career in 1974 as Assistant Professor of Physical Chemistry. Was Professor of Electrochemistry at the University of Sassari. Over the years he held the teachings of Physical Chemistry of Interfaces, Physical Chemistry for Geology, Chemistry, Solid-state Physics, laboratory of Physical Chemistry, Chemical Thermodynamics, and since A. Y. 2010-11 he takes the course of Physical Chemistry I with lab. Many were the themes dealt with research in more general field of physico-chemical characterization of inorganic materials. Current research lines are: synthesis, characterization and applications of carbon nanotubes, chemical thermodynamics of nanostructures, semiconducting nano materials for solar cells, particularly Dye Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSCs) and electrical and chemical properties of Metal Matrix Composites such as aluminum- carbon nanotubes composites. He is author of more than 110 publications on international journals.
