Biography
Dr. Manlio Occhiuzzi was born in Rome on March 19, 1952, graduated in Chemistry with a vote of 110/110 and praised on 7 October 1976 at the University of La Sapienza in Rome. On July 15, 1981 he served as a researcher confirmed at the Department of Chemistry. His scientific interest is directed at the study of surface chemistry and catalytic properties of oxide systems. The following research topics were devoted to: a) surface sites of solid metal transition solutions (CoO / MgO and NiO / MgO) and MeOx (Me = Cr, V, Mo, Cu, Mn and W) / ZrO2; b) transient species formed by gas adsorption (O2, CO, N2O, NO, NO2). These studies have been conducted with spectroscopic techniques (in particular ESR and XPS) as well as in-line vacuum-recycle volumetric techniques, which allow to measure the adsorption of gas on solids. The research activity is documented in 42 papers published in international journals with a system of referees and in 34 communications to national and international congresses.
