Biography
Dr. Scipioni graduated with honors in Chemistry at La Sapienza University in Rome. In the period October 1983 and March 1984 he obtained a contract from ENEA, carried out at Casaccia Laboratories (Rome), for research on the refueling of nuclear fuel. In the period April-October 1984 he obtained a contract from the Higher Institute of Health for research on the monitoring of heavy metals in biological fluids by Atomic Absorption. During the period 1985-1988 he attended the Doctoral Program in Chemistry at the University of Rome La Sapienza and in 1989 obtained his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry. In the period 01/07 / 1995-31 / 08/2015 he was a researcher at the Department of Chemistry of La Sapienza University of Rome for SSD CHIM / 02. From 1/09/2016 he is associate professor at the Department of Chemistry of La Sapienza University of Rome for SSD CHIM / 02. From AA 2000/2001 to the present he has held the teachings of Physical Chemistry (Physical Chemistry), Physical Chemistry and Physical Chemistry Laboratory (tr, Industrial Chemistry) and Physical Chemistry of Biological Systems (L. Spec Chemical Chemistry ). He currently holds the Physics I Chemistry course with Laboratory for the three-year degree in Industrial Chemistry and Physical Chemistry IV for Master's Degree in Chemistry. His scientific activity, which has been carried out in more than 60 papers in international journals, has mainly focused on the development of theoretical models of prediction of the mechanical properties of DNA and its protein-binding complexes, in particular nucleosomes. In recent years, his interests have focused on the development of peptide-peptide-polymer hybrid systems and lipopeptides for drug delivery applications.
