Biography

D. Stranges is Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry of the University of La Sapienza and is responsible for the Chemical Laboratory of Chemical Reaction. The CAD in Chemistry teaches Physical Chemistry III and Dynamics of Chemical Reactions. He is author of 48 publications in international journals. His research activity mainly focuses on the study of UV photodissociation of radicals and hydrocarbon molecules and the bimolecular reactions between oxygen and hydrocarbon atoms. In 1988 and 1999 he received the "Federchimica Award - For an Intelligent Future" (in the newly graduated section and in that university professor and researcher). In 1992 he became a researcher in Physical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry of the Univ. Wisdom. In 1993 he went to the United States for three years to work with the group of Prof. Yuan T. Lee (Nobel Prize in Chemistry, 1986) dealing with the study of the dynamics of unimolecular and bimolecular reactions. Back in Rome, in 1998, he began to develop a project to create a complex experimental apparatus for the study of radical UV photodissociation processes using the technique of the Transfusion Spectroscopy of the Foliage. In 2000 he became Associate Professor in Physical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry of the University. Wisdom. He was co-organizer of the XIX International Symposium on Molecular Beams (Rome 2001). He has been a scientific coordinator of research units for national projects funded by ASI, MIUR, UNIV. La Sapienza from the CNR and was the scientific director of a Marie Curie Individual Scholarship of the European Community. Invited to give oral presentations such as plenary lectures, invited lectures and hot topics at various international conferences. Since 2009, he has been a member of the International Scientific Committee on the International Symposium on Molecular Beams. H-Index = 20.
