Biography

Born in Lecce in 1971, he graduated in Physics at the University of Lecce (now University of Salento) with praise discussing the thesis titled "Deposition and characterization of carbon nitride films". In 2000 he received the title of Doctor of Physical Research at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, discussing a thesis titled "Characterization of Si-SiO 2 interfaces by XPS and photocurrent measurements" . Since January 2005 he is a researcher at the Department of Mathematics and Physics "E. De Giorgi "from the Salento University in SSD FIS 03 (Structure of Matter). Since 2006 she has been working as a Physics I practitioner within the Master of Science in Mathematics and Optics and Optometry. From 2006 to 2012 she was responsible for the "Photo Physics of Visual Processes" teaching in the Degree Course in Optics and Optometry. From 2012 he is responsible for teaching "Atomic Spectroscopy" during the Master's Degree in Physics at the Department of Mathematics and Physics "E. De Giorgi "from the University of Salento. Since December 2008 he has been Qualified Expert (EQ) of III. Since 2010, she has been responsible for the Department of Physics of the University of Salento "Research, Consulting and Service for Ionizing and Non-Ionizing Radiation." From January 2010 he is EQ of the Department of Mathematics and Physics "E. De Giorgi "from the University of Salento and the INFN section of Lecce. His research activity focuses on the study of laser-matter interaction for the deposition of thin films and nanostructured thin, inorganic and organic films by laser ablation (PLD), reactive laser ablation (RPLD) and matrix-assisted impulse laser evaporation (MAPLE). Finally, part of the activity is devoted to topics in the field of radioprotection with particular reference to issues related to radon gas exposure.

Research Interest

Radiation interaction phenomena - materials Deposition and characterization of thin films, nanostructures and nanoparticles with laser techniques (ITO, ZnO, TiO2, SnO2) Deposition and characterization of biomaterial (BSA) and polymeric films (PFO, Ge (TPC) OCH3) by laser techniques Nanoparticulate films or nanostructured metal oxide films in the field of physical and chemical sensors Detection and control of natural and artificial radioactive sources Measurement and control of ionizing radiation
