Biography
Graduated with honors in Economics and Commerce (Political Economy) in 1997 at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (Milan). He obtained a scholarship from the University of Glasgow (UK) where he received his Master of Science in Economics in 1999 and completed his studies in 2001 at the University of Pavia by completing the PhD in Economics Policy. He also received a scholarship from the Sacred Heart Catholic University in 2000 for research at the CORE (Center for Operations Research and Econometrics) at the Catholique de Louvain University in Louvain-La-Neuve, Belgium. From 07/10/2015 he is Associate Professor of Political Economics at the Department of Economics of the University of Salento. From 16/09/2002 to 06/10/2015 he was Researcher of Political Economy at the University of Salento, Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics (first University of Lecce and Department of Economics and Mathematics- Statistics). He has taught at the University of Milan (Bicocca), the University of Eastern Piedmont "A. Avogadro" and the University of Lecce, now the University of Salento. The latter was taught the teachings of "International Economics", "Macroeconomics", "Macroeconomics and Economic Policy" and "Economics of International Markets" and conducted teaching activities within the Master's School of International Studies (ISUFI) of the II level Master in "Market Analysis and Local Development". Since 2004 he is a member of the College of Professors of the PhD in Economics and Quantitative Methods for Market Analysis (University of Salento, Lecce) His research activity focuses on theoretical themes of International Economics, New Economic Geography and Growth and Growth Theory and the results have been presented at numerous international conferences and workshops and published in international magazines such as American Economic Review, Canadian Journal of Economics, Economic Theory, Journal of Regional Science, Regional Science and Urban Economics, Review of International Economics. He has been a referee for several international scientific journals such as: Economics, International Economic Review, Journal of Economic Geography, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Regional Science, Review of International Economics, Scottish Journal of Political Economy, Economics, International Regional Science Review,
Research Interest
Research focuses on theories of International Trade Theory, New Economic Geography and Regional and Urban Economics, Analysis of Markets with Monopolistic Competition, International Economic Integration and Effects of Selection between Heterogeneous Enterprises in Productivity Levels, Labor Market Analysis in Economics Open, Innovation, Growth and Economic Development.
