Biography
Prof. Antonio Serra obtained his degree in Physics at the Faculty of Science of the University of Lecce on October 20, 1994. In the period February-March 1995, he held a professional position, entrusted to him by the Department of Physics at the University of Lecce for the optical characterization of amorphous film films and the development of a computational system for determination of optical measurement constants of transmittance and reflection. - In March 1995 he won the competition for the granting of a CNR scholarship, call no. 201.19.1 of 30/11/94, and carried out research activities at the IME Institute of CNR in Lecce between April 1995 and March 1996 . - In the period from May to October 1996 he was entrusted by the Department of Materials Science of the University of Lecce with a professional service for the deposition of metal oxide films and their optical and electrical characterization in a controlled environment. - In January 1997 he won the competition for admission to the XII cycle of the PhD in "Materials Engineering" at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Lecce. - In May 1997 he won a scholarship and study at the Center for Molecular Electronics and School of Engineering at the University of Durham (UK) under the British Council - CNR Cooperation Agreement. - In June 1999 he won the competition for University Researcher who was banned from the University of Lecce and in October 1999 he served as a Researcher at the Faculty of Science of the University of Bologna (B01A-Physics General Physics). Lecce. - In February 2000 he obtained the title of Doctor of Research in "Materials Engineering" at the University of Lecce, discussing the thesis: "Organic and inorganic thin films for NO gas sensors" . - In January 2003 he received the confirmation as a University Researcher in the Scientific-Disciplinary Area FIS / 07 (Applied Physics). - In April 2005 she was eligible for the comparative assessment procedure for associate professor at the University of Sassari in SSD FIS / 07 - In November 2005 she served as Associate Professor in SSD FIS / 07 at the Faculty of Cultural Heritage. - In 2009 he received the confirmation as a associate professor in SSD FIS / 07 at the Faculty of Cultural Heritage. - In 2012 he earned a 1-class professorship in the ASN 2012 procedure
Research Interest
Prof. Antonio Serra conducts research mainly in the field of Applied Physics and his scientific interests are directed to the chemical-physical-structural study of materials of technological, environmental, bio-medical and historical-artistic interest through spectroscopic and microanalytical techniques . The developed search lines can be summarized as follows: - Synthesis and characterization of materials for applications in optoelectronic devices. - Physics for the environment. - Archeometry. - Physics applied to biology and medicine.
