Biography
Graduated in Accounting at ITC Costa di Lecce, he graduated in Economics and Business at the University of Bari in 1987. Since 1988 he has started his research in the University of Ragioneria and Corporate Research of Lecce. In 1996, Researcher at Corporate Economics at the University of Lecce. In 1998 he was appointed National Associate Professor of Corporate Economics, taking up service at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Lecce. In 2001, Professor Extraordinary, with 'Ordinary in 2005. During the academic years between 1998 and 2014 he held the teachings of Business Economics, General and Applied Accounting, Cost Analysis, Methodology and Quantitative Business Measures, Insurance Companies' Economy, Business Revision. From 2002 to 2005 he was Vice-President of the "A. de Viti de Marco" Faculty of Economics at the University of Lecce, becoming President since November 2005 and until April 2012. From 2010 to 2012 he was a member of the Junta of the National Conference Presidium Faculty of Economics and Statistics. He has been Chairman of the Intergovernmental Committee on Political Science for Euro-Mediterranean Policy at the University of Salento (headquarters in Brindisi). SCIENTIFIC AND RESEARCH ACTIVITIES Between 1993 and 1998, research at the CNDC Research Office in Rome (international sector-accounting and budget area). In 1998 she was a member of the Standing Interpretation Committee of IASC in Brussels. In the years 1999-2001 he was a member of the International Accounting Standards Working Group of the Joint International Committee set up at CNDC-CNR in Rome. In 2002 he was a member of the Working Group for the Regional Plan for Research and Technological Development at CIRP in Bari. From 2002 to 2007, he was President of the Corporate Consulting Committee at the CNDC in Rome. From 2003 to 2007 Member of the Commission on Accounting Principles at CNDC in Rome. From 2003 to 2007 he was a member of the Leasing Study Commission at ASSILEA in Rome. From 2004 to 2010 he was Co-ordinator of the Doctoral Program in Corporate Economics of the University of Salento. In 2005-06 he was a member of the Working Group at the Italian Accounting Office in Rome. In 2006 he co-ordinated the Scientific Committee on the Research Project on New Management Models promoted by the Caripuglia Foundation (University of Bari, Foggia and Lecce, Polytechnic of Bari, Unioncamere Puglia and Confindustria Puglia). He was a member of the Technical-Scientific Committee of the Fourth Sector (Cultural Heritage) of the ISUFI High School. Since 2008 he has been a member of the E.Government Laboratory at the University of Salento. He was a member of the University School of the University of Salento. Ordinary member of the following scientific societies: - Italian Academy of Business Economics. - Italian Society of Accountants and Business Economics. - Italian Society of Accounting History. - European Accounting Association. - International Accoiunting Association for Education Researchers. He has been responsible for numerous research projects, as well as director and coordinator of Master's Degrees and Advanced Courses. OTHER ACTIVITIES AND INSTITUTIONAL CHARACTERS From 2000 to 2005 (since 2004 Vice-President) of the University of Lecce; From 2001 to 2006 Chairman of the Lecce EDIS Evaluation Team. It is included in the Special List of Accountants and in the National Register of Accountants of the Accounts. RECOGNITION In 1980, the 'Associazione Culturale Lecce Nostra' was awarded the diploma of the High School with a certificate of merit. In 2005 he received a "Diploma of Excellence" prize, as part of the celebrations of the 120th anniversary of the birth of the ITC OG Costa. In 2007 the Vela Latina-Mediterraneo Art Festival prize. In 2010 Renoir Region Puglia Region reserved for Apulian personalities in the political, sports and university world. In 2011 CONI Award "Sport and Research".
Research Interest
The main research paths of the first phase of studies are represented by the economic-management dynamics of insurance companies and issues related to economic-accounting systems. Within these studies, the training experience was carried out in Rome in the years 1988 and 1989, at the Institute of Insurance Formation led by Prof. Giorgio Petroni of the University of Padua and in 1991 in Milan at the School of Management of Luigi Bocconi University.
