Biography
DATE OF BIRTH: Avellino, April 30, 1961 CURRICULUM POSITION: Associate Professor in the Chim / 06 (Organic Chemistry) disciplinary field at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Salerno EDUCATION: has a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Naples on October 27, 1983, with 110/110 and praise. On 10 October 1990 he received his Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. RESEARCH ACTIVITY: from 1987 to 1990 he has held a Ph.D. in the Department of Natural Resources Chemistry, University of Naples under the supervision of prof. Luigi Minale, interested in the chemical and pharmacological study of bioactive secondary metabolites from echinoderms. Under the Ph.D., I undertook an internship at the Ecole de Pharmacie of the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) where under the guidance of Professor K. Hostettman he had experience of new separating chromatographic methods such as the Multilayer Coil Planet Chromatography and CPC (centrifugal partitional chromatography). Also under the PhD, I undertook an internship at the Zoological Station of Naples where, under the supervision of Dr. L.Cariello has learned the main techniques used to quickly test the natural metabolites useful in bioassay guided fractionation of organism extracts From 1990 to 1992 he obtained a postgraduate scholarship at the same Department of the University of Naples, during which he was interested in the chemistry of marine-based substances, with particular attention to bioactive secondary metabolites isolated from Porifera. From 1992 to 1993 he obtained a collaboration contract for research activities to be carried out at this Department. In June 1993, following the National Competition he became a researcher in the scientific-disciplinary field Chim / 06 Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Salerno. On December 1, 2002, being a winner of the competition, he became an associate professor in the scientific-disciplinary field Chim / 06 Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the aforementioned University RESEARCH LINES The scientific interests of Professor Ines Bruno can be summarized as follows: Chemical study of bioactive substances of natural origin . Application of advanced spectroscopic techniques for the structural delineation of organic compounds Design and synthesis, through the application of the latest and efficient synthetic organic chemistry methodologies, of bioactive compounds newly generated or modeled on natural scaffolds capable of interacting with the targets of carcinogenesis and inflammation. TEACHING ACTIVITY Professor Ines Bruno carries out the Organic Chemistry course as an institutional task, and the Natural Chemistry Course for Natural Sciences for Second-year PhD students in Pharmacy at the Faculty of Ethics. Since 2000, he has been appointed a member of the Doctoral School of Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, where he holds seminars for PhD students on the importance of natural products in the field of Drug Discovery.
