Biography
The dr. Christophe Daniel received the Ph.D. in Physics in June 1996 from the "Ultrasons et Dynamique des Fluides Complexes" Laboratory, Louis Pasteur University (Strasbourg, France). From October 1996 to July 1998, he worked as Senior R & D Polymer Physicist at Ethyl Petroleum Additives Corp. (Richmond, USA). From September 1998 to November 1999, he worked as a post-doctorate at the Department of Chemistry at the University of Leeds. From November 1999 to October 2003, he has been a research grant at the Department of Chemistry at the University of Salerno where he has been working as a researcher since January 2004. Currently, the scientific activity of Dr. Daniel focuses on the study of polymeric materials, with particular attention to the structure-structure relations of polymeric materials based on sindiotactic polystyrene (sPS) and poly (2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylenoxide) (PPO).
Research Interest
The main topics covered are: Characterization of physical gels of sPS and PPO that essentially leads to the study of thermodynamic behavior and structural organization. Development of microporous and nanoporous membranes (film, aerogel) based on sPS and PPO and study of their absorption properties for possible applications in the field of environmental chemistry or gas storage. Study of sPS polymorphism and formation of molecular complexes with polar organic molecules or having nonlinear optical properties. Study of the structural organization of the PPC's co-crystals and crystalline nanoporous phases.
