Biography
Luisa Gargano received the Laurea (with praise) in Information Sciences in 1983 from the University of Salerno. Since 1994 he is an ordinary professor of computer science at the University of Salerno. He was visiting scientist at Columbia University (1987-1988), CNRS and INRIA at Sophia Antipolis (1993, 1998, 1999, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011), Bielefeld University (1993 and 1994 ) and SFU University of Vancouver (2012). He has been researching in various areas of Theoretical Computer Science, Information Theory, Combinator. Currently his research interests are focused on Distributed Computing with particular focus on routing issues, peer-to-peer systems and social networks. He has participated in numerous national and international research projects; in particular he was coordinator of the ARACNE Research Training Network (2000-2004) funded by the European Community. He is a member of the editorial board of Journal of Discrete Mathematics. He has also been a member (also co-chair) of the program committee of various international conferences. He has been a referee for many of the leading journals and conferences in computer science. He has been an auditor for financing research projects in Canada, the EU, France, Italy and the USA. He co-authored about 100 papers in international journals / conferences.
Research Interest
She has been researching in various areas of Theoretical Computer Science, Information Theory, Combinator. Currently his research interests are focused on Distributed Computing with particular focus on routing issues, peer-to-peer systems and social networks.
