Biography

Luciano Feo is an Ordinary Professor of Building Science at the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Salerno. He received his degree in Civil Engineering for Soil Protection and Territorial Planning at the University of Salerno, the PhD in Structural Engineering Research at the University of Naples "Federico II", and the diploma in "Conception optimizes the intelligence of materials and structures" at the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris. He is the author of more than two hundred and sixty scientific journals published in international and national newspapers, in national and international conferences and conferences, in chapters of international and national broadcast books and encyclopedias, and in departmental acts. His main research activities, both present and past, concerned: the mechanics of thin beams; structural consolidation with composite materials; the study of materials and innovative structures; the numerical-experimental analysis of connections for composite structures; innovative materials for sustainable engineering; multiscale modeling of the mechanical response of materials and structures. Further research activities concerned: construction equipment; the analysis of biomechanical bone-implant interaction in osseointegrated dental implants; the strongly non-linear dynamics of granular systems. The professor. Feo is Co-National Scientific Co-ordinator of the "Innovative Materials for Infrastructure Construction Operations in the Construction Industry" section of the ReLUIS-DPC Research Project 2014-2018. He has also been a Scientific Director of numerous National Interest Research Projects (PRINs) funded by the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR), the National Research Council (CNR), the Consortium of the Network of University Laboratories of Seismic Engineering - Department of Civil Protection (ReLUIS / DPC), and Fundraising for Basic Research (FARB) funds. He is a member of numerous national and international academies, associations, scientific committees and national and international research centers, including Lagrange Laboratories, International Community for Composites Engineering (ICCE), International Institute for FRP in Construction, ACI Italy Chapter, the European Mechanics Society (EUROMECH), the Italian Association of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (AIMETA), the Italian Association for Solution Research (AIAS), the College of Steel Technicians (CTA) and 'Italian Composite & Affini Association (ASSOCIATED). He was also co-founder of the NANO_MATES Research Center for NANOMAterials and nanoTechnology at the University of Salerno. Since 1996, prof. Feo is the Head of Experimentation and Quality Assurance of the Laboratory of Materials Testing and Structures at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Salerno and since 1999 a member of the National Board of Directors and Quality Assurance Officers of Laboratories Officers of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of the Italian Universities. Since 2004 he has been National Research Council of the National Research Council (CNR), which has set up the series of Technical Documents relating to the structural use of fiber-reinforced composite materials in the Civil Engineering sector. Since 2010, she has also been a member of the International Expert Group working on the European CEN TC 250 - WG4 document "Fiber Reinforced Polymer Structures - Scientific and Technical Report", which provides European guidelines for designing and verifying structures entirely made of fibrous reinforced composite materials. Since 2015 she has been the Director of the Laboratory of Materials Testing and Structures at the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Salerno. During his academic career, prof. Feo has collaborated with numerous national and international research groups, spending some periods of scientific research at several foreign universities. He has participated in numerous scientific conferences in Italy and abroad, and has been "Chairman", "General Co-Chairman" and "Honorary Vice Chair" of numerous national and international scientific conferences. He has also been invited to numerous national and international scientific conferences and conferences. Among the prizes and awards are the "National AIAS Award 2009", awarded by the Italian Association for Solution Analysis, and the Most Cited Paper Award for the years 2015, 2016 and 2017, received by the prestigious Elsevier publishing house. Particularly significant is his leadership in international scientific journals. In fact, since 2010, prof. Feo is the European editor of the international scientific journal Composites Part B: Engineering, published by Elsevier. In addition, he is Editor-in-Chief of the "Section Board for Advanced Composites" of the international scientific journal Materials and Senior Associate Editor of the international scientific journal "PSU Research Review: An International Journal" published by the Emerald publishing house. The professor. Feo is also Guest Co-Editor of the Special Issue of International Materials Magazine, entitled "Green Materials and Construction"; Guest Co-Editor of the Special Issue Magazine Composites Part B: Engineering, entitled "Advances in Damage Mechanics of Polymer Composites"; Guest Co-Editor of the Special Issue Magazine Composites Part B: Engineering, entitled " Composite Lattice Materials and Structures "; Guest Co-Editor of two Special Issues from International Technologies magazine, titled "Nanotechnology in Construction" and "Bolted and Bonded Joints in Fiber Reinforced Polymer Constructions" respectively. In addition, he is a member of the Editorial Board of the following international scientific journals: Composites Part B: Engineering, Composites Theory and Practice, World Journal of Engineering, Journal Technologies, Materials, Current Nanoscience, International Journal of Nanoelectronics and Materials, Curved and Layered Structures, PSU Research Review: An International Journal, and the National Seismic Design Magazine. With reference to the institutional commitments, the current position of Rector Delegate at the Instrumental Resources of the University of Salerno and those previously held at the University of Salerno, Vicar Director of the Department of Civil Engineering and Board of Directors.
