Biography
Angelo Marcelli is an Ordinary Professor of Information Processing Systems at the Faculty of Engineering, is the Head of the Natural Computing Laboratory of the Department of Information Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Applied Mathematics and is currently the Chair of the Faculty. Angelo Marcelli holds a degree in Electronic Engineering (with praise) and PhD in Electronic and Computer Engineering at the University of Naples "Federico II" in 1983 and 1987, respectively. From 1987 to 1989 he was the scientific director of the CRIAI Visual and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Naples, where he founded and directed the Italo-Russian Joint Laboratory for Analysis and Image Processing. From 1989 to 1997 he was Senior Researcher at the Department of Computer Science and Systems at the University of Naples "Federico II". Since 1998 he has been a Professor of Role at the University of Salerno. Over the years, he has been a guest of many foreign research institutions in the former Soviet Union and the US, Angelo Marcelli is the author of more than 150 scientific articles published in journals, books and international congress papers, is Co-Editor of Journal of Forensic Document Examination, Editor of the magazine International Journal of Document Analysis and Recognition, Associate Editor of Pattern Magazine Recognition Letters, has been and is a member of the program committee of the most important international conferences on image analysis, pattern recognition, analysis and recognition of the manuscript. He is a member of IEEE, the IEEE Computer Society, the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, the Italian Researchers Group in Pattern Recognition. From 2007 to 2011 he was President of the International Graphonomics Society.
