Recent Activities:Member of the ISRN Discrete Mathematics Editorial Board, Member of the Advisory Board of Editions Zikkurat, Vice President (and Chairman of the Scientific Committee) of the National Association of Computer Researchers - GRIN (2006 -2009), PRIN-MIUR National Research Coordinator: Resource Allocation in Computer Networks (1999-2001), Associate Member of Research Chair: HOT, University of Quebec at Hull, CanadaVice-President of the Italian Chapter of the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science (1997-2000), Director of the Department of Computer Science and Applications of the University of Salerno (1996-1999) Research interests: Professor Vaccaro has carried out research in several areas: he has studied issues of Code Theory, Data Security, Parallel and Distributed Computing, and application of Information Theoretical Methods to Extreme Combinatory Problems and Theoretical Computer Science. At the moment, he is particularly interested in issues related to the design of efficient algorithms for disseminating information in Social Networks and the applications of Information Theory in Computer Matters. Teaching activity: Since 1984 he has held both the degree and the doctorate level. These courses covered the following topics: Information Theory, Algorithms and Data Structures, Combinatorial, Distributed Systems. He has been a lecturer in many degree theses and three doctoral theses.
Research Interest
