Biography

Walter Zamboni was born in Naples on January 2, 1977. He is associate professor of Electrotechnics (ssd ING-IND / 31) at the University of Salerno since May 2, 2016. In 2001 he graduated with honors in Electrical Engineering at the University of Naples "Federico II" and in 2004 he obtained a PhD in Electrical Engineering at the same university. In 2002 she gained her degree in engineering. He was visiting scientist at EPFL's CRPP-Superconductivity, Villigen, Switzerland (April 2003; September-November 2003) and staged at CERN, AT-MTM Group, Geneva, Switzerland (May-August 2003). He was awarded research at DAEIMI, University of Cassino, from March 2005 to February 2008. In February 2014 he obtained the National Scientific Ability for the Second Division's professorships for the Competitive Sector 09 / E1 - Electrotechnics. He is a member of IEEE, a member of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES), and member of the IEEE -IES Tecnical Committee "Energy Storage".  From 2006 to 2008 he was a lecturer at "Circuit Theory" at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Sannio. Since 2008 he has been teaching in the course of numerous courses of the ING-IND / 31 ssd at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Salerno. Since 2009, she has been teaching at the "Principles of Electrotechnics" course for Management Engineer. He has been tutor for "Electrotechnical I" courses at the Consortium Nettuno - Polo Tecnologico di Napoli from 2002 to 2007. From 2008 to 2016 he was a researcher at the University of Salerno. It is mainly engaged in the field of Energy Storage and energy management of energy storage devices. In particular, it deals with modeling of batteries, state estimation methods and parameters, diagnostics, and development of BMS (Battery Management System) devices. Other research interests include: electromagnetic and circuit modeling, with applications for energy conversion and management, and electromagnetic characterization of innovative materials and devices. In the past he has devoted particular attention to research in the field of computational electromagnetism (quasi-stationary numerical numerical modeling of superconducting devices, He has performed and regularly carries out auditing activities for numerous conferences and IEEE Transaction on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transaction on Industrial Informatics, Cryogenics, Superconductor Science and Technology, IEEE Transaction on Applied Superconductivity, IEEE Transaction on Electron Devices, Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, IEEE Transaction on Magnetics. Since 2012, he has been organizer and / or chair of special sessions on Energy Storage organized under international IEEE-IES conferences.
