Biography
Cristina Ulivieri is assistant professor of Molecular Biology since 2005. She graduated in Biological Sciences at the University of Siena in 1996, where, in 2004 she obtained a PhD in Evolutionary Biology. From 1996 to 2004 she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at University of Siena, she is a recipient of FIRC (Federazione Italiana Ricerca sul Cancro) and University of Siena fellowship. During this period she received a young investigator grant from University of Siena and she spent two periods at the The Basel Institute for Immunology (Prof. Ed Palmer), Switzerland. She has a long-standing experience in the field of molecular immunology with a focus on antigen receptor and chemokine receptor signaling in T cells and dysregulation of these processes both by drugs (NSAIDs, statins) and by pathogens (H. pylori, cytomegalovirus). Her interests have recently extended to the study of signaling in mast cells and astrocytes.
Research Interest
