Biography
Fabio Berti , PhD in sociology, is associate professor of Sociology at the Department of Social, Political and Cognitive Sciences of the University of Siena, where he teaches Sociology and Sociology of Migration in various degree courses, specialization schools, specialization courses and master's degree. He is chairman of the teaching committee of the degree course in Social Service Sciences and delegate of the Rector for incoming orientation.He is part of the PhD Committee in "Political Science: Comparative and European Politics" of the University of Siena; he is part of the Cesvot Scientific Committee - Voluntary Service Center of Tuscany; he is a member of the scientific committee of the series of the Ismu Foundation at the publisher Franco Angeli of Milan and of the series Sociophenomena of the Pacini publisher of Pisa.With the support of a rigorous theoretical and methodological basis, he has been conducting for many years empirical research on the theme of social integration in multicultural society in collaboration with numerous public bodies (Region, Provinces, Municipalities) and private institutions (Cesvot, Ismu). He also deals with social sustainability, the theory of degrowth and local development, also in this case combining theoretical reflection and empirical research.
