Biography
He is an academic of Crusca, a corresponding member. of the Academy of Arcadia, member of the Ass. for the History of the Italian Language and of the International Society LB Alberti and juror of the "Strega Prize". He is a member of the scientific committee of the "Bulletin of Italian Studies" and of the "Italian Linguistic Studies" (Rev. fascia A). Scientific Director of the Italian Dictionary Garzanti from 2004 to 2015, he is currently conducting a new edition of the Treccani Vocabulary. Since 2015 he has directed the series "Grammar and vocabularies published by the Accademia della Crusca" and "The varieties of Italian. Arts and professions sciences ". In 2017 he was awarded by the Accademia dei Lincei of the Philology and Linguistics Award. He has a hundred and five publications, some of which have been translated and published in France and in Japan.
