Biography
PhD in applied linguistics (Columbia University), he was an associate professor at the University of Calabria before moving to Siena, where he has been a full professor since 2002. Visiting fellow at the European University Institute in 2007-08, he still collaborates with the post-doc program of this institute as a member of the European FIESOLE Group network. He has participated in several national and international research projects, including LDIC (Linguistic Diversity on the International Campus). He is currently deputy director of the AIM Interuniversity Center
