Biography
Patrizia Marti is Researcher at the Department of Social, Political and Cognitive Sciences of the University of Siena. He is Full time Professor , "Culture based Design" at the Eindhoven Technical University (Holland). He is delegated by the Rector of the University of Siena to Technological Innovation in Humanistic Sciences, and delegated to the research of the Department of Social, Political and Cognitive Sciences. Since 2011 he has also held the position of delegate of the rector to libraries. He is currently in charge of the Robotics and Technologies laboratory for learning at the University of Siena, where he coordinates a multi-disciplinary group that deals with the design and application of robotic technologies. He has been teaching Man-Machine Interaction and Robotics and Learning for many years. He is a member of the Faculty Board of the PhD in Telematics and Information Society, University of Florence and external examiner in International PhD and MA at the University of Aarhus (Denmark) and University of Hearthfordshire (UK), at the University of Odense (Denmark), University of Limerick (Ireland). He received his PhD from the Eindhoven Technical University in Aesthetics of Interaction, with a thesis on the design of technologies for treatment and therapy. He has a long experience of research in the field of Interactive Technologies in various sectors, from learning and special education mediated by robots, to the design of innovative technologies for the museum, to complex systems (transport, medical-hospital sector). She has been a keynote speaker at numerous conferences and international symposia. He has published numerous articles in international journals, book chapters and conferences. She has been the editor of monographic issues for the journals Travail Humain and Cognition, Technology and Work. He is currently a member of numerous scientific committees of international journals and conferences, and scientific auditor on behalf of the European Commission in the FET-Future Emerging Technologies program.
