Biography

Dr. Fusi Stefania was born in Colle Val d'Elsa (SI), April 25 1955. Stefania Fusi graduated in 1980 in Pharmaceuticals Chemistry and Technology at the University of Siena with full marks, with a thesis entitled "Mechanisms of photochemical isomerization of isoxazolil-5-amines and isoxazolil-5-hydrazine". She received certification to the profession of pharmacist In the second session of 1980. After graduation Dr.Fusi attended as a fellow (June 1980-October 1982) the Institute of Pharmacology of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Siena, interest in problems of monitoring of antiepileptic drugs and the kinetics of absorption of drugs. In October 1982 she won a scholarship of ENI, and then performs research at the Institute of Organic Chemistry, University of Siena. In particular, her work has involved the study of photochemical reactions of heterocyclic systems. On 17 September 1987 she followed the title of PhD, ( Pharmaceutical Sciences) by submitting a final dissertation on "Regio - and stereo-selectivity in the photochemical addiction of the activated systems for the production of molecules potential pharmacological activity. " Dr Fusi is a researcher (CHIM06) since 1990 and has been confirmed in the role in 1993. Dr. Stefania Fusi has done his own research at the Institute of Organic Chemistry, University of Siena and actually at the Department of Chemistry, University of Siena . The increased line of research (see publications and participation in Congress) is represented by the study of photochemical heterocyclic systems, both from a synthetic point of view, both as regards the knowledge of reaction mechanisms. This field is present in the research project 1999/2000 "Control of photochemical reactions by means of catalytic antibodies." In the years 1999/2000 she participated in the research COFIN "non-protein components in the extract of Mucuna pruriens with property snake anti-poison ". In the years 2001/2002 in the research project "Development of new drugs for the treatment of urinary incontinence." in 2004/2005 this research PRIN "Design of ligands photomodular of integrins RGD dependents" and in the years 2006/2007 in the PRIN research design in silico, preparation and photochemical reactivity of cyclic photomodular peptide mimetics containing the RGD fragment. She is member of the Italian Chemical Society Division of Organic Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. She is part of numerous committees for examination in the teachings of organic chemistry and was responsible of the thesis for the degree courses in Pharmacy and Chemistry. Teacher of Organic Chemistry , Laboratory of Organic Chemistry II, Retrosynthetic Analysis Biorganic Chemistry, in the degree courses in the faculties of Pharmacy and Chemistry at the university of Siena.
