Biography
Emilio CARBONE is a professor of physiology at the Department of Drug Science and Technology, University of Turin, Italy.
Research Interest
Ca 2+ voltage-dependent channels and their role in neuronal excitability and hormonal neurosecretion. Modulation of Ca 2+ channels induced by stress inducing factors (hypoxia and β-adrenergic stimulation). Neutrophic factor action (BDNF, NGF) in synaptic plasticity. Development of nanobiosensors capable of detecting electrical signals from cultured neurons and "quanti" of catecholamines released during exocytosis in adrenal artery cocoffin cells.
