Andrea Marini

Biography

"I am Associate Professor of Cognitive Psychology at the University of Udine, Italy where I lead the Language Lab (section of the Cognitive Neuroscience Lab of my Department). I am also responsible for research projects at Research Institutes “Eugenio Medea” and ""Claudiana Landesfachhochschule für Gesundheitsberufe"" (Bozen). As an academic I serve as member of the board of the School of Specialization in Psychiatry (University of Udine) and of the PhD school in Cognitive Neuroscience (University of Trieste). Since 2015 I am member of the Italian National Committee for establishing the guidelines for the clinical management of children with Specific Language Impairments and of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST Action) – EU Framework Programme Horizon 2020: IS1406 (""Enhancing children's oral language skills across Europe and beyond - a collaboration focusing on interventions for children with difficulties learning their first language""). My research interests span from the study of the neural correlates of language, the neuropsychology of language in both adults and children (linguistic assessment, characterization of linguistic symptoms, linguistic rehabilitation), the development of new procedures of discourse analysis and the study of the phylogenetic evolution of language. My teaching activity is focused on the Psychology of Language, Cognitive Psychology, Psycholinguistics applied to Psychiatry, Neurolinguistics, Developmental Psychology (University of Udine), Psycholinguistics (Universities of Trieste and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome). Since 2013 I am editorial director for the book series Neuroscienze, Psicologia, Educazione (“Neuroscience, Pscyhology, Education) for Carocci Publisher (Rome). In 2013 I was invited as visiting professor at East Carolina University (Greenville, NC, USA). I authored several books, book chapters and articles in peer-reviewed journals."
