Biography
Degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Bologna in 1986 Specialized, with honors, in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute of Bologna in 1991 For 25 years until May 31, 2016 he served at the USL of Bologna, first as Assistant and Assistant of the Division of Orthopedics and Traumatology of the Ospedale Maggiore, later with the position of Head of the Simple Operational Unit of Day Hospital and then Director of the UO Complex of Orthopedics and Traumatology of Bentivoglio Hospital. From 1-6-2016 he works as a freelancer in the professional association PBS (Percutaneous Bianchi System) formed by a group of orthopedic surgeons who have introduced and introduced in Italy and abroad innovative techniques in the field of minimally invasive percutaneous surgery of the foot, at the accredited Private Clinics Villa Salus and Villa Verde in Reggio Emilia. The surgical activity is exclusively dedicated to the treatment of foot and ankle pathologies. He completed his training through numerous refresher courses in Italy and abroad, with repeated stays in various countries: United States, Canada, England, Spain, France, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, Belgium and Germany. He took care of the complex fractures and the traumatized and became part of the Italian board of the International Association of Osteosynthesis (AO) based in Davos, Switzerland. He has taught in numerous courses at national and international level. For some years his attention is mainly focused on foot and ankle surgery. He has personally performed about 10,000 interventions in the orthopedic and traumatological field. He has several publications in Italian and foreign magazines. He has been a speaker at numerous Courses and Congresses at national and international level. He has organized residential courses for orthopedic surgeons in the field of foot surgery. He was a speaker-instructor in Musculoskeletal ultrasound courses for medical specialists in various disciplines: radiology, rheumatology, physiatry, sports medicine.
