Andrea Fossati, born in Milan on November 27, 1963, after classical studies at Liceo Ginnasio "A. From November 1989 until the graduation he obtained the internship in Medical Psychology at the Department of Neuropsychical Sciences of the San Raffaele Institute of Milan, directed by Prof. Cesare Maffei, at the Medical and Psychotherapy Department of Milan. In the 1991/1992 Academic Year, he attended and passed the admission exam at the School of Specialization in Clinical Psychology at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milan, becoming the first in the ranking of merit. In December 1992 he participated in the competition for the VIIIth PhD Program in Research Methodology of Psychology Research. Having regularly attended the courses, he regularly completed his PhD in three years, discussing the following PhD thesis: "The categorical model of Personality Disorders under Axis II of DSM-IV. From November 2000 to October 2002 he was a researcher at the Faculty of Psychology of the San Raffaele Health-and-Health University of Milan (confirmed since October 2001). Since November 2002 he is Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Psychology Faculty of the San Raffaele Health and Life University of Milan (confirmed since October 2006). In October 2010 she has been eligible as Professor of the Band in the Scientific Disciplinary Sector M-PSI / 08, Clinical Psychology. He is the Founding Member of the Italian Association for the Study of Personality Disorders (AISDP) and the International Society for Research on Impulsivity (ISRI); He is also a member of the International Society for the Study of Personality Disorders (ISSPD). Since September 2007 he is a member of the ISSPD Board. Since March 2011 he is a member of the Board of the European Society for the Study of Personality Disorders (ESSPD) From January 2004 to December 2008 he was President of the Italian Association for the Study of Personality Disorders.
