Biography

Born on December 13, 1965 in Geneva, Switzerland. PhD in Psychology at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, in the year 1999. Master in Electrical Engineering and Informatic at the State University of Portland, Oregon, United States, in 1992 Degree in Informatics at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, in 1990. Curriculum Gabriel Baud-Bovy graduated from Computer Science at the University of Geneva in 1990. He holds a Master in Electrical and Information Engineering at the State University of Portland, Oregon, in 1992 and the PhD in Psychology at the University of Geneva in 1999. From 1999 to 2003, he completed a post-doctoral degree at the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Minnesota, and at the Brain Science Center at the Veteran's Affairs Hospital in Minneapolis, USA. During these years, Gabriel Baud-Bovy has been involved in visual perception of geometrical figures, motor control in the multi-finger grip, and participated in the recording, analysis and modeling of cortical activity in monkeys. At the end of her postgraduate degree, Gabriel Baud-Bovy has been doing research at the Cognition & CNRS-UMR 5105 wholesaling in France. Since 2003, Gabriel Baud-Bovy is Researcher (M / PSI-02) at the Psychology Faculty of the San Raffaele University of Milan, where he teaches Psychophysics and Artificial Intelligence.

Research Interest

Gabriel Baud-Bovy conducts research into the sensory-motor mechanisms involved in multi-finger prying and manipulation of objects, and the perceptual abilities of the arm-hand system, with the aim of maximizing exchanges between the behavioral approach, the physiological approach and robotics, both experimental and theoretical. A salient feature of its activities is the use of aptic interface. Aptic interfaces are an innovative technology introduced recently in the field of robotics, which allows the evaluation of man-machine interaction in a virtual reality, by measuring tactile forces and information.
