Research Interest
Areas of research Immunology of tumors. Since 1976 he has been researching Immunology applied in Oncology, with particular reference to the control of neoplastic growth in patients with laryngeal carcinoma. He co-operated with CNR projects on these topics, as well as with "40%" and "60%" financing projects. Waldeyer Ring Immunology. A first field of research is the production of secretion of IgA in nasal, tracheal and salivary secretion and the development of new dosage methods. A second area concerns the phenotypic and functional characterization of lymphocytes in tonsillary physiopathology. Nasal Pathophysiology The research topics in this regard concern the possibilities of immune and functional monitoring of the high respiratory tract, with particular attention to pre-tumor and tumor modification. Oncology of the head and neck. Particular attention has been paid to the study of prognostic factors in cancer patients, as well as to the functional aspects of patients undergoing surgery and, more in detail, to the study and possible evolution of the reconstructive techniques needed after demolition of the head and neck. On this subject he was invited to hold a master class at the III International Congress of Maxillo-Facial Prosthetics Psychoonomology The survey, partially under the aegis of the CNR, mainly concerns psycho-behavioral alterations in patients with highly demolished head and neck surgery. Functional and aesthetic implications of paranasal cavities and nasal pyramid surgery.
